PlantNetwork > MEETINGS
PlantNetwork organises three kinds of meetings.
- CONFERENCES. Each year PlantNetwork holds at least two conferences, one in Spring the other in Autumn. These comprise 2 days of invited talks, during which we usually take the opportunity to visit plant collections in the immediate location of the meeting. The themes of these meetings cover subjects which the board feels are of importance in furthering the strategic plan of PlantNetwork.
- FORUM GROUPS. PlantNetwork has a number of special interest forum groups. These hold regular one day practical workshops to allow members to meet,
compare notes and discuss problems. These meetings are open to PlantNetwork members only and have a nominal cost of £10 to cover lunch etc.
- Plant Records Group
is the longest running forum, and addresses issues of record-keeping, data management, mapping and all matters associated with documenting plant collections.
- Tree Forum
discusses arboriculture, arboreta and all matters sylvicultural.
- Glasshouse Forum
brings together those involved in cultivating hot house plants.
- Propagation Forum
is the most recent group which has recently joined forces with PlantNetwork and provides advice and support with all aspects of plant propagation.
- TRAINING DAYS. These are one day workshops with limited numbers (8-12) that allow for hands on-training in specific areas of horticultural techniques. Previous Training days have covered Germination techniques, Grafting, Growing under glass.
