Pests and Diseases on Trees and Shrubs:
how to recognise symptoms

The Food and Environment Research Agency (Fera) is pleased to host this meeting for PlantNetwork. Aimed at horticultural and arboricultural staff in botanic and historic gardens, the day will focus on how to recognise symptoms of some of the pests and diseases observed on trees and shrubs in the UK in recent years.
The day will include talks on:

recognition of pests and diseases
introduced species and emerging threats, such as Phytophthora ramorum and P. kernoviae, red-band needle blight and Asian longhorn beetle
practicalities of outbreak management
measures to avoid the spread of pests and diseases.

A light lunch will be provided.
