| Accessions | As part of the University of Oxford Botanic Garden, the Arboretum aims to grow a collection of plants consistent with the fulfilment of its mission. Believing it to be best attained through a diverse collection reflecting the research and teaching programmes of the garden, the collection policy may be summarised as follows. A plant will be grown at the Garden if it is: (i) required for the purposes of academic teaching or research by a member of the University, (ii) of value to the schools and/or public education programme, (iii) in a botanical family or genus not yet represented at the Garden, (iv) a species from a diverse genus that differs greatly from the species (or that genus) already in the collection, (v) representative of a taxon which is part of a special collection at the Garden. | ||
